Tarot is an Unending Gift

With tarot as emphasized in my previous articles, it is usually seen as a mysterious object. Cards with images and words such as Death, The Lovers or Wheel of Fortune- make people also feel nervous or excited but for what? As a veteran tarot reader of 14 years it's an unending gift of self-discovery, wisdom and magick.

Unfortunately in 2025, people still negatively view tarot as evil or the devil's tool. But it's not that. It's a powerful tool that needs to be used responsibly since it feeds off of your energy and other unseen forces. Tarot cards have feelings, needs and demand respect. Surprised? Would you want to work with someone if they didn't respect you? Absolutely not!

With that said, it's fair that people are skeptical of it because of the mystery surrounding it and how there are charlatans out there exploiting vulnerable people. Today, spiritual warfare is at an all-time high. Be sure to protect yourself spiritually as well because the world isn't just what we see; there are people, spirits and entities who will try to feed off of you with ill intentions. With that said, when getting a tarot reading read the reviews, come in with an open mind but with the intention to take the reader's message with a grain of salt. Yes, even I a veteran reader is saying this so that you can get the best experience out of your readings. I only caution to enter the reading with respect as mentioned before. Not just the cards but the reader as well. I have openly turned away people and reimbursed their money when I felt that they didn't respect the craft of tarot even though it's their first time coming to me.

Another thing about tarot is that don't expect the reader to be a psychic like in the media. Every reader in my opinion has their gifts and read in different ways. One time, I conducted a reading for a fellow classmate and she openly discussed it with our other classmates on how she was disappointed with the tarot reading I gave her. Don't get it wrong-the reading was accurate as she told me and our classmates separately but she was expecting "new" information, predictions and that I will be exactly like the old woman she saw years ago that was a full blown psychic. She did tell me I said exactly what the old woman had said. Not going to lie I was miffed because when she was talking to the other people about it, she made it seem like the reading I gave her was nothing despite it being accurate. What many people don't understand is that when you hear the same information being reiterated again by another reader that means you need to work on it until you can move onto the next part of your life. When getting a reading adjust your expectations. We are all different, but we may say the same information due to you needing to make the adjustments in your life. At the end of the day, we can't make everyone happy.

Lastly, with the insight the reading can give not every reader is a good fit with everyone. It's like therapy, you need to look around for a therapist that fits your personality or vibe. Not to feed your ego or to tell you what you want to hear but a reader that will help you grow and to be a better person.
