"What's the tea?" is what comes to mind for this delicious and soothing divination book. Authors Sandra Mariah Wright and Leanne Marrama managed to stir up emotions and catharsis within these pages while teaching the art of tea leaf reading. "Reading the Leaves" has an accessible introduction to this unique divination technique. It is filled with generational magic and personal stories passed down from the authors.

Each section is broken down from recipes, how to read the leaves, teacups, and various techniques to use when practicing a reading. There is genuine energy placed within these pages to where the reader can connect and take their time learning a new skill. There is no rush in the way Wright and Marrama explain their process. Instead, the directions are digestible and make the reader come back for more, primarily focusing on how to read the teacup.

The book features simple sketches of teacups and leaves to give the reader a perspective of what they may see. There are also parts where the reader is encouraged to use as a personal journal to jot down their practice readings and their experiences.

If one is looking for spell work, this book is not it. It purely focuses on the technique of the herb divination and what it could do for the reader. The authors' ideas are what not many think of- tea readings can be used as a "mourning tea," a way for people to connect with their loved ones. Reading tea leaves is more than seeing images but it is simply put that asking your loved ones to come through during a reading is one fantastic way to communicate. The book can give one a run for their money since it is rich and abundant in ideas of what tea readings can be used for and what it can truly bring to the table.
